TC Bubble

TC Bubble is a quintessential motion graphics typeface. Intricate yet stereotypical shapes highlight the idiosyncratic marks of mograph tools in a spacial type design context.

To create the glyphs, a setup of cloners, noises and VDB meshing was used. The setup was carefully put together to produce a cohesive character set in a semi-automated workflow, only minimal adaptions were made my hand.

This complete obedience to the selected tools was intended as an exploration of tool-centric design with unusual instruments. The obvious traces are a nod to the marks of more traditional type design tools like chisels and pens that influence type design to this day.
